FAQ
What happens during my session?
*Prior to your session you’ll be asked to complete a brief health assessment so I can assess your needs and discuss your expectations. Please inform me of any past or current injuries, surgeries, conditions, allergies, or if you are pregnant. All personal information is kept strictly confidential.
*During your session I will use a variety of pressures and strokes to alleviate muscle tension and create more mobility. If at any time you are experiencing discomfort, please tell me. I may have special powers but mind reading is not one of them; also, pain is not healed with more pain!
*You will be properly covered at all times to keep you warm and comfortable. Only the area being worked on will be exposed, respecting your privacy.
*I travel with everything I need for your session. If you prefer to use your own massage table, sheets, oils, or play your own music please let me know.
*Massage is for everybody + every body regardless of size, shape, skin color, sexual orientation, gender identity, or physical limitation. When you’re on my table you’re just a human being deserving respect and compassion.
Can you fix me?
I would love to answer “YES” but that is just not reality. Your issue may be due to an anatomical condition, repetitive use from work or sport activities, an injury, or even stress. It takes consistency, time, and patience along with homework and lifestyle shifts to make significant changes. I can certainly do my best to alleviate or lessen your pain but my work is not that magical as to ‘cure’ you in an hour! I often make recommendations which, along with frequent bodywork, can make an impact…you just have to commit to your recovery + healing.
What products do I use?
I use a massage gel during your session. It’s hypoallergenic plus paraben, fragrance, and nut-free. It’s loaded with nourishing oils which leave your skin moisturized without feeling greasy! It absorbs easily into your skin so there’s no icky residue on my sheets or your clothing. For face work I use Aypa Raw Balm which smells like chocolate and has wonderful skin protecting properties.
What is Ayatana?
Ayatana is from the language of Sanskrit translated as a resting place, sanctuary, or place of sacred fire. From the Buddhist philosophy it refers to the six sense organs and senses; it is a way of cognitive thinking, of connecting with the world through sight, sound, scent, taste, thought, and touch.
