I’ve got a new name!

AYATANAMASSAGE.COM IS NOW AYATANAWELLNESS.COM

Sometimes unexpected changes happen…and you just have to roll with it. I must have missed an email regarding my domain name expiring so here I am with a new identity!

But believe me, I struggled with using the word WELLNESS. Why? Well, it’s straight up an overused word…and a confusing one. It’s used to describe everything from cat food to cars, clothing, and beauty products. Even my own industry has struggled to define the word! It’s become a catch-all term for “spa” (massage, facials, body treatments), alternative medicine practices such as chiropractic, acupuncture and naturopathy, the use of infrared saunas, the myriad fitness fads and, lifestyle programs like smoking cessation and weight loss.

The dictionary defines wellness as:
1. the quality or state of being healthy in body and mind, especially as the result of deliberate effort.
2. an approach to healthcare that emphasizes preventing illness and prolonging life, as opposed to emphasizing treating disease.

To me, wellness is a comprehensive blend of healthy lifestyle decisions that include smart food choices, physical activity, balanced emotions, a positive perspective and attitude towards yourself and others, social consciousness, and of course, self-care. And that’s where I come in…massage therapy and Healing Touch are effective ways to enhance the quality of your life and help you maintain a state of wellbeing.

Your ayatana session is influenced not only by decades of hands-on massage experience and my newly found love for energy therapy, but also MY wellness lifestyle choices which encompass essential oil + herbal studies, practicing yoga + meditation, veganism, alternative healing practices, travel, and surfing. Think of me as a “wellness purveyor” and through my sessions, this blog, and other social media outlets I will continue to share my knowledge, to educate, and encourage you to seek ways to improve your state of wellness.

Welcome to ayatana wellness!
